Verify an email list before a cold email campaign

Updated 1 November 2026 · 5 min read

Short answer

Verify your list before every cold email campaign, because bounces hurt the reputation of every mailbox that sends to bad addresses. In ReplyDak you upload a CSV to Verify, and each address is checked for syntax, MX records, disposable and role addresses, free-mail, typos and, when available, the mail server. You get the same CSV back with status columns. It is free for your first 3 months, then about ₹0.02 per address.

A list you bought, scraped or built a year ago will have dead addresses in it. Each one bounces. Inbox providers notice a high bounce rate and start to trust your mailboxes less. A few minutes of checking before you send protects weeks of warm-up.

What the verifier checks

CheckWhat it catches
SyntaxAddresses that are not written as a valid email
MX recordsDomains that cannot receive email at all
DisposableThrowaway addresses from temporary mail services
RoleShared addresses such as info@ or sales@ rather than a person
Free-mailPersonal addresses on free providers, which you may not want in B2B outreach
TyposCommon misspellings of mail domains
Mail server (when available)Whether the server says the mailbox exists

Verify a list in ReplyDak

  1. 1

    Sign up free

Create an account at app.replydak.com/signup. No card is needed, and the verifier is free for your first 3 months.

  2. 2

    Export your list as CSV

From your CRM, spreadsheet or lead tool, save the prospects as a CSV file with an email column.

  3. 3

    Upload it to Verify

Open Verify in the dashboard and upload the file. One list can hold up to 5,000 addresses, and you can check up to 10,000 a day. Split bigger lists into parts.

  4. 4

    Download the results

You get the same CSV back with status columns added, so your other columns stay in place.

  5. 5

    Remove or suppress bad addresses

Keep the valid ones for your campaign. Add the invalid addresses to your opt-out list in one step, so they are never emailed by mistake.

  6. 6

    Send the clean list

Load it into Campaigns, or into Instantly or Smartlead with your exported mailboxes.

Only checking one address? The public email verifier works without an account.

What it costs

For the first 3 months from sign-up, verification is free with no cap beyond the daily limits. After that it costs about ₹0.02 per address, which is ReplyDak's estimated cost with no markup. You pay from a wallet with top-ups from ₹200. If a job needs more than your balance, ReplyDak tells you before it starts, and nothing is half-done. During the free period, usage still shows at ₹0 on the Usage page so you can see what it would cost later.

Good list habits

  • Verify again if a list has sat unused for a while; people change jobs.
  • Think twice before emailing role addresses; they often reach a shared team inbox.
  • Watch your bounce rate per campaign and stop if it climbs.
  • Read the deliverability checklist before a big send.

Verify up to 5,000 addresses per list free for your first 3 months.

Domains, DNS, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace mailboxes and warmup. From $2.69 per mailbox ($35 for 10).

When ReplyDak is not the right tool

If you need to clean very large lists in one go, ReplyDak's limits of 5,000 per list and 10,000 a day may feel slow, and a dedicated verification service could suit you better. ReplyDak also does not sell lead lists or find new email addresses; it only checks the ones you bring. And no verifier can promise zero bounces, since some mail servers do not say whether a mailbox exists. For a wider view of providers, see ReplyDak vs the market leader.
